Yes another Backwoodz Studioz release. Did you download The Reavers LP yet? No? Go sit in the corner and put your head down. If you did check out Terror Firma, then you should have an idea who Billy Woods and Priviledge are. They came together to form the Super Chron Flight Brothers, a group worth checking out based on their name alone. But they aren't a Cypress Hill cover band as the name might suggest, they are actually two really educated artists that simply like to indulge in a bit of that sweet ganja now and again. The chronic is a reoccuring theme throughout the LP, but it is also largely saturated with insightful social commentary. Topics touched on include things like immigration, landlord injustices, government corruption, and of course the flaws of the legal/judicial system. It is another one of my favorites, but it didn't get the greatest reviews, I am guessing because critics were expecting a "Hits From the Bong Pt. 3", and got more of a "Zeitgeist The Movie: the Hip-Hop Version". None the less, dope shit. I was hooked from the first time I heard the MF DOOM produced, "Dirtweed", that begins with the a snippet of the notorious courtroom scene in the movie
Blow. ("If you think about it, what did I really do? I crossed an imaginary line with a bunch of plants....") My favorite tracks are: the aforementioned Dirtweed, Public Defenders, and High Grade; a lot of other gems on this one though. So you supply the super chron, and I will hook up the Flight Brothers......yup.
